When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.

It contains comedy, drama and MAGIC!

Learn to sing, act and dance while working on a full length production to be performed for friends and family at the end of the program. We'll work on technique, skills, tips and tricks that you can use in the upcoming performance and in other shows. On stage we'll work on perfecting those skills. We welcome all skill levels. Expect to be challenged and prepare to have fun!

Back Stage Pass
Back Stage Pass Experience - this exciting program creates a "360 view of theatre" when combined with the Spotlight Kids or Junior programs. The half day, 2-week program introduces students to the "rest of theatre" with set design, props, costumes, posters, tech details, and everything else that goes into a production including additional acting, singing and dancing. Participants will make props and other items actually used in summer productions of "Frozen Jr" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr".

Young performers can sign up for JUST the Back Stage Pass Experience, or combine it with the Spotlight Kids or Junior program to make a full-day experience!
