Fundraiser Show To Benefit Charities In Our Community
What is our purpose?
Our purpose is to perform shows throughout the year that may be used to benefit a broad spectrum of people within the community. Our goal is to offer performers the opportunity to use their talent to benefit the community. Stages signature show, a Broadway Musical Revue, is offered as a fundraiser to charities. The fundraiser may be used by non-profit organizations, church groups, scouts or school groups.
What is the Broadway Musical Revue?
Stages presents an exciting high-energy two-hour family show consisting of top hit songs and dances from Broadway musical shows. Our multi-age cast is chosen from open auditions in the greater Rochester area. The show has a general theme and consists of solos, duets, ensembles and full cast numbers in full costume, with lively acting and dancing.
The 2008 Revue is "Some Enchanted Evening, The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein." This show is comprised of well-known songs from the musicals "Oklahoma," "Sound of Music," "The King and I," "Carousel" and many others.
Our Director is Cecile Saine, Musical Director Jeffrey Temkin, and Choreographer Cori Colombo. The cast is filled with people who love to perform musical theater for your entertainment.
What does Stages Provide for the Fundraiser?
Stages provides a complete night out at the theater. We perform the Revue at our theater, UpStage 3, located on the Third Floor at the Auditorium Center, 875 East Main Street, Rochester, New York. We provide tickets for the 224 theater seats, ushers, concessions, posters and programs. We do general advertising of the Stages Revue show. We also offer support to assist your organization in conducting a successful fundraiser.
How does the Fundraiser Work?
Your organization selects a specific show date and then sells the tickets to that show. We consider that your Show Date. Your organization sets the price of the tickets for your Show Date because you know your market for sales. (Stages recommends $18) In the past seasons, organizations have sold tickets at both a higher and lower price. Even though this allows tickets to be sold for different prices, we believe that your supporters will donate the price you choose to support your cause.
There is a show fee paid to Stages of $1,300 per show. Stages encourages your organization to obtain individual, corporate or business sponsors to pay this show fee. With sponsors covering the show fee, you receive 100% of the ticket sale proceeds.
Stages provides an information sheet for soliciting sponsors. This sets forth all the benefits that a sponsor receives by donating to your group, including a listing in the program, recognition at your show, and free tickets.
Stages has a complete fundraiser packet to explain this unique program to your organization and will attend meetings to answer questions for your Board.
When are the 2008 Fundraiser Shows?
The Broadway Musical Revue fundraiser shows are available for shows being performed April 26, 2008 through May 10, 2008. (Opening night April 25 and closing night May 10 are not available). Shows are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm; Saturday matinees at 2:30 pm; and Sunday shows at 5:00 pm.
How do I book a fundraiser with Stages?
If you have any questions, would like a fundraiser packet, or would like to select a show date, please contact Tom Pembrook, Fundraiser Show Manager, at (585) 473-9096 or tap1@frontiernet.net.
